Ford will soon offer hands-free driving technology on the 2021 Ford F-150. The top-of-the-line Limited trim will sport Active Drive Assist as a standard element of the Ford Co-Pilot360™, the automaker’s suite of advanced safety and driver assist features. Though, you can also get Active Drive Assist as an available add-on if you go with a Lariat, King Ranch, or Platinum trim.
Active Drive Assist
Active Drive Assist will enable you to remove your hands from the steering wheel while on the highway. The system uses camera and radar technologies to keep the 2021 F-150 squarely in the center of the lane while traveling at a driver-selected speed.
Active Drive Assist has already been announced as part of the all-new electric Mustang Mach-E. Ford mapped more than 100,000 miles of American highways when fine-tuning the new technology.
Granted, drivers are still required to keep their eyes on the road at all times. A driver-facing camera will monitor your head position and eye movement to ensure that you are staying awake and alert behind the wheel.
Active Drive Assist is available for a 3-year service period with automatic updates to keep the technology current. After this period, updates will come only if you continue the subscription by paying a monthly service cost.

Ford is partnering with Mobileye to help improve its lineup of advanced driver safety aids. The automaker will leverage Mobileye’s EyeQ software and computer chips to make Ford’s Co-Pilot360™ technology even better.
“It is a privilege to extend and expand our long-standing collaboration with a company that is so committed to safety on behalf of its global customer base,” said Professor Amnon Shashua, president and CEO, Mobileye. “We look forward to working closely together to bring these functionalities to market in the full Ford product lineup.”
Active Drive Assist
One of the first new technologies that Mobileye is helping Ford develop is the new Active Drive Assist. This will be Ford’s first venture into hands-free driving technology. This feature will initially appear in the redesigned 2021 Ford F-150 and the new Mustang Mach-E electric vehicle.
The partnership with Mobileye is a long-term commitment that is expected to last through the next generation of new Ford vehicles. As the Ford lineup continues to get new technology, you will begin to see the Mobileye logo incorporated into the SYNC® touch-screen displays. Ford will continue to work with Mobileye to development future autonomous driving technology.

The all-new Ford SYNC® 4 infotainment system has INRIX technology, which makes your daily drive easier with tons of valuable driving data. INRIX makes it a breeze to access real-time information on available parking spaces, the lowest local gas prices, the nearest EV charging stations, and the latest traffic updates.
INRIX keeps its information up-to-date by gathering billions of data points from anonymous sources every single day. This data comes from sources as varied as connected vehicles, state DOTs, social media, news reports, and road weather reports. For instance, its vast dataset lets it display the latest prices from over 380,000 gas stations around the world.
“Customers want connected vehicle technologies to work more like smartphones with real-time, personalized services – and that is exactly what SYNC® 4 offers, including INRIX’s parking and fuel price innovations,” explained Gary Jablonski, the manager of Ford Connected Vehicle Infotainment Systems. INRIX technology can even benefit entrepreneurs and contractors. Using the example of hard-working F-150 customers, Jablonski demonstrated that INRIX technology would take the stress and guesswork out of locating job sites.

Enhancing The Towing Experience
The new navigation solution not only enhances the off-roading experience but also the towing experience. This allows you to travel along routes that are suited for your trailer’s size, so you can avoid running into narrow passes or sharp turns. You can also get directions for lots of the 4×4 trails in North America, and more trail maps will be added in the future.
