Ford Sustainability Report Promises Carbon Neutrality by 2050

2020 Ford Models | Roosevelt, UT

In its 21st annual Sustainability Report, Ford announced plans to become entirely carbon neutral by 2050. To do so, Ford will focus its efforts on its facilities, supply base, and vehicle use, which currently create about 95 percent of its emissions today.

The Changes Ford Plans To Make

Ford is developing goals aligned with the Science Based Targets initiative, which divides emissions into three groups. Scope 1 emissions stem from sources that Ford controls or owns. Scope 2 emissions include indirect emissions that cooling, heating and electricity consumption generates. Lastly, Scope 3 emissions are made by the Ford supply base and vehicles.

In Accordance to the Paris Climate Agreement

The automaker intends to act in accordance with the Paris Climate Agreement. As such, Ford is adhering to California’s emissions standards rather than the federal standards. Through 2022, Ford is investing an astounding $11.5 billion in its all-new electric vehicles, which is why the Mustang Mach-E and the all-electric Transit are hitting the market.

Single-Use Plastics

In addition to reaching full carbon neutrality by 2050, Ford has reiterated its goal originally declared in the 2019 Ford Sustainability Report to stop using single-use plastics by 2030. Ford manufacturing plants will also utilize renewable energy by 2035.

Here’s How to Get Your Ford Ready for Summer Road Trips

get your Ford ready for summer road trips

School’s almost out, the days are getting longer, and the weather’s warming up, which means it’s time to get on the road and explore our country with a good old-fashioned road trip. But is your car, truck, or SUV ready for the vacation? Here’s how to get your Ford ready for summer road trips:

Oil Change and Tire Rotation

Before putting long miles on your Ford, make sure it has fresh oil for optimal engine performance and recent tire rotation for even tire wearing. If you service at L&L Motor, we can also let you know of any other maintenance items that are due, and we’ll do a full inspection to make sure your Ford is operating safely before your trip.

Clean Inside and Out

Car washes and waxes are important for preserving your car’s exterior, especially after a winter filled with snow and road salt. But you should also clean out the inside of your Ford before your trip — and bring along trash bags to keep it clean during your vacation.

Check the Basics

Before heading out, make sure that your tire pressure is correct, your windshield wiper blades aren’t leaving streaks, all your headlights are working, and your AC is operating correctly. This will save you unexpected troubles during your trip.
