Trucks Outsold Cars for First Time Ever in the US

Ford Super Duty | Trucks Outsold Cars In US | Roosevelt, UT

Over recent years, sales of passenger cars have been decreasing, while sales of trucks and SUVs have been on the rise. In April of 2020, the Autodata Corporation found that pickup trucks outsold passenger cars in the United States for the first time in history.

According to Bloomberg, pickups sold 17,000 more units than passenger cars during the month of April alone. This is a major change from just five years ago when passenger cars sold about 500,000 units more than pickup trucks in a single month.

Lower gas prices and great financing offers of late may have contributed to the uptick in pickup sales. With lower gas prices, in particular, trucks that value power over efficiency may be more sought after than they were previously.

Nevertheless, some trucks, like the 2020 Ford F-150, nicely balance power and efficiency, making them fantastic options even when gas prices increase. The F-150 offers six engine options, including the 3.0-liter Power Stroke® turbo diesel and the 3.5-liter high-output EcoBoost®, which reaches a best-in-class 450 horsepower.

If you’re interested in purchasing a new truck, check out the Ford models available at L&L Motor in Vernal, Utah, by browsing our online inventory. While doing so, don’t hesitate to give us a call if you have any questions or would like to know more about a certain model.

4 Car-Themed Ways to Celebrate Father’s Day

fathers day

Is your old man the world’s biggest car guru? Treat him to a spectacular Sunday of nothing but cars this Father’s Day. Not sure what to do? Here are some unique car-themed ways to celebrate Father’s Day this June:

    1. Wash Dad’s car…together: If your dad is a true car geek, he probably enjoys the time he spends working on his car. So rather than buying him tokens for the car wash, buy the supplies to wash your car at home with your dad.
    2. Go to the drive-in: There are plenty of good summer blockbusters this year—Avengers, Deadpool, and more. Support your local drive-in in your father’s favorite set of wheels this Father’s Day weekend.
    3. Take a short road trip: Here in Vernal, we are just a short road trip away from some beautiful landscapes and amazing outdoor adventures every dad will love. But what he’ll love even more is the time spent bonding with you and his car. Just make sure you pay for the gas
    4. Buy him something: If your dad hates surprise activities and would rather spend the day at home, treat him to a car-themed gift, like some of these suggestions from Cars.com.
