Ford F-150 & Mustang Awarded as Most Eco-Friendly Models

Every year, Green Car Journal bestows awards to what it considers the most eco-friendly car and truck of the year. For 2021, the all-new 2021 Ford Mustang Mach-E was named the Green Car of the Year, while the 2021 Ford F-150 received the award for Green Truck of the Year. F-150

As for the F-150, it most impressed the judges with its newly available, class-exclusive 3.5-liter PowerBoost Full Hybrid V6. This gas-electric powertrain will deliver a maximum towing capacity of 12,700 pounds, achieve exceptional performance ratings, and is expected to offer more than 700 miles of driving range.

“The 2021 F-150’s redesign keeps things fresh,” stated Green Car Journal’s representative in the announcement. “The addition of a full hybrid engine option is an important differentiator, as is this pickup’s available Pro Power Onboard output system with 120- and 240-volt outlets for tradesmen and construction sites.”

2021 Ford F-150 Gets Hands-Free Driving Technology

2020 Ford F-150 | Vernal, UT

Ford will soon offer hands-free driving technology on the 2021 Ford F-150. The top-of-the-line Limited trim will sport Active Drive Assist as a standard element of the Ford Co-Pilot360™, the automaker’s suite of advanced safety and driver assist features. Though, you can also get Active Drive Assist as an available add-on if you go with a Lariat, King Ranch, or Platinum trim.

Active Drive Assist

Active Drive Assist will enable you to remove your hands from the steering wheel while on the highway. The system uses camera and radar technologies to keep the 2021 F-150 squarely in the center of the lane while traveling at a driver-selected speed.

Active Drive Assist has already been announced as part of the all-new electric Mustang Mach-E. Ford mapped more than 100,000 miles of American highways when fine-tuning the new technology.

Granted, drivers are still required to keep their eyes on the road at all times. A driver-facing camera will monitor your head position and eye movement to ensure that you are staying awake and alert behind the wheel.

3-Year Service

Active Drive Assist is available for a 3-year service period with automatic updates to keep the technology current. After this period, updates will come only if you continue the subscription by paying a monthly service cost.
